It is crucial to have made a good design, thinking at all times in the tooling phase. A proper technical management is also important at this stage, as it will avoid high costs and unnecessary waiting times, derived from a long and tedious job towards the achievement of tooling manufacture.
Should be kept in mind that during this phase supplier management and design adjustment are key elements for the success of the last stage of development: Product Industrialization.
Interaction with our suppliers, proposing them improvements to ease their work, is important to guarantee the project success and customer satisfaction. Thus, we can also ensure that the working team is composed of all the participants in the various phases of product development.
As previously discussed, during the simulation phase a rheological analysis is performed, before starting tooling construction (example for plastic injection or metal)
This analysis allows detection of certain problems that can be solved before proceeding (e.g. problems arising from plastic injection). This way, we avoid wasting time and money, which no doubt would be spent if those setbacks were detected only in later stages.
